Poll – What Do You Collect?

  1. Hi! I have a 1980 EIRE 5P like listed on your site for 22,200,000. I have also seen these same coins on ebay listed from $1.99 to $4.99. What am I looking for when looking at this coins appraisal?.
    Thank You,
    Marvin Blaine

    • Hi Marvin,
My webpage states that 22,200,000 of these coins were minted (produced).
This is not a value – just the total number produced that year.
If you look at the other columns (to the right), you will see market values for the various grades.
Apologies if my layout has caused confusion.
      Best regards
      James

      • Greetings:
I have some modern Irish paper money.
I see that you lack image of the B series 50 IEP, as well as the C series 50 and 100 IEP.
I will try to get images to you.
Will you be adding Ireland Code letter Euro notes?
        respectfully,
        Chris

      • Hi Chris,

I’ve actually got the images for these notes but I need to do a bit more work on the banknote pages.

In time, I will add the “Irish” Euro notes. I’m struggling to finish the Euro coin section first.

Many thanks for your very kind offer.

        Best regards,
        James

      • Hello James,

Your site is an amazing resource. Tons of information assembled over the course of years. Hopefully it is backed up twice.

When Ireland made the changeover to the EURO I purchased new bank notes from the CBI, 5 all the way to 500 Euro. To my dismay the 200 and 500 notes they sent me had the country code for Austria. Apparently the 500 Ireland code Euro notes are super rare and expensive. I have a picture of one if you need it. It is certified.

        respectfully,

        Chris

  2. Hello James,
I seem to recall the CBI was giving blocks of shredded currency to people in Ireland shortly after the changeover to the EURO currency.
By any chance do you have a picture of one of those blocks?
    thanks
    Chris

  4. I have recently got a 1940 Ireland Halfcrown that I think is a fake. Have you found any 1940 fakes? Can I send it to you to see what you think ?
