Date: c. 1035-1060 Description: Hiberno-Norse coinage, silver penny, Phase III, Class E (Bust with symbol – crude quatrefoil on neck) – Long Cross with one hand, two pellets and the symbol ‘S’ on reverse. Badly blundered legends on both obverse and reverse – undecipherable. Obverse: Stylised bust of Ethelred II, imitating earlier Phase I types.…
