Introduction:

The silver threepences of Edward VII are very popular amongst collectors and a full set set is relatively easy to complete. There are no major varieties and even the silver proof of 1902 is readily available.

  • Bare head of King Edward VII facing right
    • Legend:
      • EDWARDVS VII D:G:BRITT:OMN:REX F:D:IND:IMP:
    • Full text in Latin:
      • EDWARDVS VII DEI GRATIA BRITANNIARUM OMNIUM REX FIDEI DEFENSOR INDIAE IMPERATOR
    • Translation:
      • Edward the Seventh, by the Grace of God, King of all the Britains, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India
  • Designer / Engraver: George De Saulles

Reverse

  • Royal crown above the number ‘3’, with the date divided to either side.
  • A wreath with a bow at the base surrounds the main design
