    • The £1 note of this 8th issue of the Bank of Ireland series features
      • This note is part of the new series issued from 1838, depicting statues of Hibernia at left and right and a row of 21 classical heads of Medusa across the top. The main elements of this design continued to be used by the bank until the late 20th century
